A book on mitosis was recently published from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press. This is one of Perspectives in Biology. The book was edited by Anthony Hyman, Jonathon Pines and myself. I wrote the first chapter entitled The role of Model Organisms in the history of mitosis research. Besides three editors, Tatsuya Hirano, David Glover, Aaron Straight, Iain Cheeseman, Mark Petronczki, David Pellman, Hiro Ohkura and their colleagues wrote the chapters. The book will take some time to express its influence. Therefore the book should be read by young people, hopefully by undergraduate students.
